A successful closing event was held on the 16th of February at the Grand Serail in Beirut, within the framework of the Project titled “Strengthening Human Resources Management Capacities in the Lebanese Public Sector” implemented by an international consortium led by PLANET S.A.

The purpose of the event was to present the results of the project, its anticipated impact, as well as the suggested steps and actions for the project’s sustainability. The event was held under the auspices of the Prime Minister Mr. Saad Hariri who honored the occasion with his presence. Among the honorable guests that attended were, the Minister of State for Administrative Reform, the President of the Civil Service Board and the members of the CSB Board, representatives of the European Union Delegation, and several General Directors from different Ministries. In total, more than 130 people attended the event, including representatives of all four involved Ministries and other stakeholders.

The overall objective of the project was the improvement of the Human Resources Management capacities in the Civil Service Board (CSB) in four M inistries: the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Industry. The activities of the project, which lasted 39 months, included analysis of the existing human resources management capacities, development of a merit-based recruitment system, advancement and promotion system as well as a performance appraisal system along with the necessary testing of all developed systems in all 4 Ministries.
